Sunday Cancer Screenings

Hosted by our amazing Women's Health Committee in collaboration with VN CARES, our cancer screenings occur on the first Sunday of every month. We work with the UC Davis School of Medicine medical students and physicians from UC Davis, Kaiser, Sutter Health, and more to provide free preventative cancer screenings for both female and male patients. Appointments are required for our monthly Sunday Clinics - please call or email to schedule. For more information, please visit the VN CARES website.

Testing Eligibility

  • Prostate cancer: Males 50+, every 2 years

    • Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA-Blood Test)

    • Digital Rectal Exam (DRE-Physical Exam)

  • Breast cancer

    • Clinical Breast Exam (CBE): Women 40+, every 1-2 years​

    • Mammogram: Women 40+, every 2 years

  • Cervical cancer

    • Pap Smear: 21 (or if sexually active) to 29, every 3 years​

    • HPV and Pap Smear Co-testing: 30 to 65 years old, every 5 years (if in a monogamous relationship, and last Pap smear and HPV results are negative)

  • Liver Cancer: Hepatitis B screening (blood test): everyone, all ages, once in a lifetime

    • Hepatitis B Screening (Blood test)

    • Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (Hep B sAg)

    • Hep B Surface Antibody (Hep B sAb)

    • Hep B Core Total (Hep Bc Ab TOT)

  • Colon cancer: everyone 45+, annually

    • Fecal Immunochemical Test ​
